So….maybe this doesn’t have an immediate application in my life but I might just display this beautifully wound textile as a coffee table piece.

I think what really jazzes me about this particular webbing is the look of the natural canvas with the very handsome blue ticking stripe. If you examine vintage LL Bean tote bags and log carriers, they were all natural selvage canvas with a distinctive blue ticking stripe border. If you look in the totes, the handles usually line up with the ticking stripes, so it might have served as an easy visual marker for where to sew the handles on. Either way, if you’ve been looking for burly cotton webbing, look no further!
